The End of Evangelion
This design is a tribute to the 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, along with its subsequent films. The creators Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Hideaki Anno, are the two that brought Evangelion from just an idea, all the way to manga and film.
It's an abstract, brutalist design featuring imagery and phrases from the show. The design evokes a sense of anxiety with the timer at the top and uncanny text. The main imagery is from a manga panel I studied and redrew to be the centerpiece of the finished tribute design. I didn't change much, as I thought there was no way his art could be improved on, so I turned it into an opportunity to study his style since this is really my first attempt at drawing manga. It turned out great and I'm excited to get this printed!
